Overview

Clare-Mar Farms is a 4^th generation family owned and operated farm and grain elevator.

The farm was started by Clarence and Marjorie Slaght (Clare-Mar) as a mixed grain and livestock operation. In the 1970’s their Son’s Clendon and Ronald expanded the dairy operation. They milked 125 cows in the area’s first milking parlor and freestall barn. In the 1990’s the dairy operation was sold, and Clendon and his son Philip continued to cash crop. In 2000 Grain Bins were erected and a small dryer and scale were added to service the local community.

As with most Farms, there are always ups and downs, and in 2012 a concrete silo collapsed, which caused significant damage to most of the facility. Our community rallied around us in providing the manpower and equipment needed to assist us in the cleanup, so that rebuilding could begin. We are forever grateful to the community who helped us.

In 2015 Philip’s son Brent became the 4^th generation to join the family business.

While the Farm has evolved over the generations, we remain on the family homestead and retain the same values of service to God, Family, and our Community.
